ABSTRACT
The constituent elections held on October 23,2011 in Tunisia implied a renewal of the political elites. This research focuses on the professionalising and legitimising process of this new political body. The ethnographic fieldwork in the assembly during the constitutional process conducted and in the district of Kasserine during and after the 2014 elections enables to grasp what it means to become a deputy not only inside the assembly but also in one’s district. It allows for a better understanding of how one gets into politics and of the process of stabilization of their position in a context of revolution. The study argues that these political practices are inherited from the former regime while being updated and adjusted to the new context.
